Privacy Policy

What LayarStreaming collects when you use this service, and why.

If you have an account

  • Account details: username, email address, and a one-way hash of your password. If you sign in with Google we receive your Google account ID and email address, nothing else.
  • Payment details: the payout method and address you enter, and a record of every payout request.
  • Your videos: the files you upload, their titles, descriptions, captions and statistics.
  • Earnings: a ledger of what you earned and were paid. We keep it as long as accounting rules require.

If you watch a video

The player sets no cookies. For each playback we record which video was played, how long it was watched, the website it was embedded on, the viewer's country (from our network, or looked up from the IP address in a database kept on our own server: IP Geolocation by DB-IP), and a salted one-way hash of the IP address. We use this to count valid views and to stop fraud. We do not store the IP address itself with the view.

If you open someone's referral link, a cookie remembers that link for 30 days so the account you create can be credited to them. It holds their username and nothing about you.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in to the dashboard (up to 30 days). A short-lived cookie is used while you sign in with Google. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Security logs

To limit abuse (for example password guessing) we keep counters keyed by IP address for up to one hour.

Reports and counter-notices

If you report a video we store your name, email address and what you wrote; your name and description are shown to the uploader. If you file a counter-notice we store your name, address, phone number and statement, and pass them to the person who filed the report, as copyright law requires.

Who else processes data

  • Bunny.net stores and delivers the videos. A viewer's browser connects to their network directly, so they see the viewer's IP address.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Our email provider, to send you account and payout messages.
  • The payment service you chose, to pay you.

We do not sell personal data.

Your choices

You can change your payment details and password in your account. To get a copy of your data, to correct it, or to have your account and data deleted, contact us at emulza78@gmail.com. Records we must keep by law (such as payout records) are kept for the required period.
